Associate Professor Hanizah Musib
Adjudication Chief Judge
She is a distinguished trumpet player, music educator, and adjudicator with more than 45 years of experience in the Malaysian music scene. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music from Ohio Wesleyan University (Delaware, Ohio, 1984–1988) and completed her graduate studies Masters in Music at The Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio, 1988–1990), United States of America. In 2002, she furthered her musical scholarship through doctoral studies in Music at the Royal Holloway, University of London.
Her career as a professional musician began in 1989 with the Malaysian National Symphony Orchestra, and she has since established herself as a versatile performer and educator. She served as an Associate Professor and senior lecturer, training young trumpeters and brass players at the Faculty of Music, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia (1990 – 2024). In addition, she is the resident conductor of KL Sinfonia, a community-based pop orchestra.

Associate Professor Hanizah is widely recognized as one of Malaysia’s leading adjudicators in the field of marching and concert bands. Since 2010, she has been an international adjudicator for the National Marching Band Competition (NATCOMP) and the Malaysian World Marching Band Competition (MWBC). She has been a certified adjudicator for the Asian Marching Band Confederation (AMBC) since 2018. Her extensive judging experience includes competitions across Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and beyond, such as the Minang Marching Band Competition (2018–2019), Asian Virtual Marching Band Competition (2020), the first Asian Music Games (AMG) in Jember, Indonesia (2023), NATCOMP/MWBC 2024 (Kedah, Malaysia), MIWFEST 2024 (Shah Alam, Malaysia), BAKOOD Festival 2024 (Bacoor, Philippines), Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono 2024 (Yogyakarta, Indonesia), Makassar International Marching Fest 2025 in Makassar, Indonesia 2025, and most recently, Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono 2025 (Yogyakarta, Indonesia) from 10 – 12 October 2025.
In recognition of her contributions, she was recently appointed Deputy President for the Asia Marching Arts Association (AMAA) in 2025 and Vice President of Persatuan Pancaragam Malaysia (PPM) since 2023. Through her leadership, creativity, and dedication, Associate Professor Hanizah has played a pivotal role in shaping Malaysia’s marching band culture. Her work has not only elevated performance standards nationally and internationally but has also inspired and nurtured generations of young musicians, fostering a vibrant and passionate community of performers and educators.
Muhamad Hazrin Bin Hj Ishak
Brass Winds / Melodica
Muhamad Hazrin Bin Hj Ishak is a dedicated trumpet player, music educator, and adjudicator with extensive involvement in the music performance and education scene both locally and internationally. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), where he developed a strong foundation in pedagogy, performance, and musical leadership. Hazrin has actively participated in a wide range of musical performances and competitions, showcasing versatility across different genres and ensemble settings.
Muhammad Azri Bin Mohd Razman
Since joining Voice of Percussion (VoP) in 2014, I have been actively involved in advancing percussion excellence, serving as a coach and technical trainer since 2019. My focus lies in strengthening fundamental skills, timing precision, sound quality, and ensemble cohesion. I have also contributed as a music arranger, with a particular emphasis on percussion writing and effective musical integration. My competitive background includes multiple championship titles and podium finishes in international marching and indoor percussion events, including WGI Malaysia Indoor Percussion and major international competitions such as the Malaysia World Band Competition (MWBC) and Thailand World Marching Championship (TWMC).
Muhammad Azri Bin Mohd Razman
A passionate marching arts practitioner since 2009, I have developed a strong foundation in music performance before specializing in the percussion field. My early experience as a brass and woodwind performer shaped my understanding of musicality and ensemble balance, which I later applied to percussion performance and instruction.

I obtained my judging certification under Drum Corps Asia (DCA) in 2019 and further strengthened my adjudication credentials with certification from the Asian Marching Band Confederation (AMBC) in 2024. With additional exposure through shadow judging at KLIYMBC and GPMB (Indonesia), I bring a well-rounded and percussion-focused perspective to judging. My evaluation approach emphasizes technical clarity, consistency, musical expression, and overall performance quality in percussion ensembles
Raja Muzafar Shah Bin Raja Abdullah
Raja Muzafar Shah is a distinguished Malaysian conductor, adjudicator, and instrumental music educator with more than two decades of experience in symphonic band and ensemble music education since 2005. Known for his artistic vision, musical discipline, and unwavering commitment to youth development through music, Raja has emerged as one of the prominent figures in the Malaysian wind orchestra scene, actively contributing to the advancement of ensemble performance and music education both nationally and internationally.
Raja Muzafar Shah Bin Raja Abdullah
Raja Muzafar Shah is a distinguished Malaysian conductor, adjudicator, and instrumental music educator with more than two decades of experience in symphonic band and ensemble music education since 2005. Known for his artistic vision, musical discipline, and unwavering commitment to youth development through music, Raja has emerged as one of the prominent figures in the Malaysian wind orchestra scene, actively contributing to the advancement of ensemble performance and music education both nationally and internationally.
As a passionate band director, Raja Muzafar has led ensembles to numerous Gold and Distinction Awards, championship titles, and international accolades at prestigious music festivals and competitions across Asia, Australia, Europe, and the United States. Under his direction, ensembles have performed at internationally renowned concert halls and festivals, earning recognition for their musical excellence, artistic refinement, and distinctive performance identity on the global stage. Beyond the competitive arena, Raja Muzafar is widely respected for his dedication to nurturing young musicians and cultivating high artistic standards in ensemble performance. His pedagogical approach combines technical precision, expressive musicality, and strong educational values, inspiring generations of performers to pursue excellence with discipline, creativity, and passion.
His growing international presence has earned recognition within global music communities, including receiving the Best Conductor Award at the World Orchestra Festival in Vienna. Beginning in July 2026, Raja Muzafar will also serve on the Artistic Committee of the World Orchestra Festival in Vienna, marking another significant milestone in his continued contribution to international wind orchestra development, artistic collaboration, and global music education initiatives. Currently serving as the Vice President of the Malaysian Association of Marching Arts, Raja Muzafar is committed to play a proactive role in the advancement of marching arts and wind orchestra culture in Malaysia.
Mr. Armand Haniff bin Mohamed Hoezei
Brass Winds / Melodica
He is a dedicated music educator, trumpet player, conductor, and music arranger with a strong background in the Malaysian music scene. Having played the trumpet since 2010, he brings over a decade of performance experience and five years of specialized teaching expertise to his craft.
He earned his Diploma in Music and his Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition (Hons.) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Demonstrating outstanding academic excellence, he received the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Award for both programs by consistently maintaining a GPA above 3.50. Additionally, he holds Grade 3 ABRSM certifications in both Practical (Trumpet) and Theory.
Mr. Armand Haniff bin Mohamed Hoezei
is a dedicated music educator, trumpet player, conductor, and music arranger with a strong background in the Malaysian music scene. Having played the trumpet since 2010, he brings over a decade of performance experience and five years of specialized teaching expertise to his craft. He earned his Diploma in Music and his Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition (Hons.) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Demonstrating outstanding academic excellence, he received the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Award for both programs by consistently maintaining a GPA above 3.50. Additionally, he holds Grade 3 ABRSM certifications in both Practical (Trumpet) and Theory.
His professional career began in 2021 as a Branch Manager and Trumpet Teacher at a specialized Music Centre, where he managed administration, operations, and syllabus design, while also providing one-to-one trumpet instruction for students at Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar in Seremban. He currently serves as a Music Specialist Teacher at Aspiration International School, guiding both primary and secondary students in performing arts, instrument studies, and music exploration. Armand’s community and ensemble involvement is equally notable. From 2017 to 2020, he served as the Assistant Conductor, Principal Trumpet, Music Arranger, and Librarian for KL Sinfonia, a community orchestra. In 2019, his brass quintet, Brass Monkz, was appointed as the Resident Brass Quintet for the Penang International Brass Festival. More recently, in 2025, he toured across Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Pahang, Johor Bahru, and Selangor as a Melodica/Pianica and Brass Trainer for the National Band Camp.
Mr. Armand is increasingly recognized for his expertise in trumpet performance, conducting, and arranging within the marching and concert band arenas. He is a certified adjudicator under the World Marching Band Organization (WMBO) and the Asian Marching Band Confederation (AMBC). His judging portfolio includes serving as an adjudicator for Winds, Brass, and Pianica/Melodica at the Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono X 2025 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He has also actively built his adjudicating experience as a Shadow Judge for Winds and Brass at key international events, including the National Band Competition (NATCOMP) and Malaysian World Band Competition (MWBC) in Kedah (2023), the Bakood Music Festival in the Philippines (2024), and Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono (2025).
In recognition of his ongoing contributions to the local music community, he was appointed as Vice Auditor for Persatuan Pancaragam Malaysia (PPM) in 2026. Through his leadership, creativity, and dedication, Mr. Armand aims to inspire and educate the industry about marching bands, orchestras, and other notable ensembles without discrimination or boundaries. He operates on the profound belief that music is one and music is universal—dedicating his career to fostering an inclusive and passionate community of performers and educators, no matter where the music takes him.
Dr Muhammad Sayyid Shafiee
Percussion
Programme Leader, Music Performance, Sunway University
Sayyid Shafiee is a composer who has dedicated his talents to the realm of contemporary classical composition. His musical creations have graced prestigious international music festivals, including the Druskomanija Festival in Lithuania, the China-Asean Music Festival in China, the Risuonanze Festival in Italy, the Asian Composers League in the Philippines, the Soundbridge Festival in Malaysia, the SNU New Music Festival in Korea, among many others. Sayyid imparts his profound knowledge and expertise to aspiring musicians at various levels. He offers academic guidance and supervises postgraduate research students, contributing to the university’s educational framework.
Moreover, he has been appointed as a Panel of Assessors by the Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA) in the field of music, where he diligently evaluates academic accreditation and assesses educational programs nationwide. Driven by his passion for music education and the performing arts, Sayyid envisions a future career that encompasses cross-media disciplines and their profound impact on the development of contemporary music in Malaysia.
Mohd Hezrul bin Hizham

Mr Hezrul has been engaged in the marching band scene since the young age of 13 when he performed with one of Malaysia’s most renowned marching band.
Mr Audi Hezrul is an active marching band consultant, trainer, clinician, and adjudicator for vanous high schools, universities, and community band groups across Asia. With an intention to advance marching band activities, mainly colourguard, Visual Performance, and General Effect by imparting his expertise and experience throughout the activity primarily in Asian countnes. Throughout his years of involvement, he has gained performance and instructional expenence in numerous international competitions in Japan, Canada, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Taiwan, and other Asian countries. Under his leadership, the ensembles he has coached have earned numerous accolades, including Best Color Guard at Malaysia & Hong Kong Competitions & Best Colorguard Award for World Marching Band Championship in Taiwan 2018. Latest achievement Overall Champion for MIMAC 2025. Champion for Street Parade & 1st Runner-up Show Band Competition for Senior Category of World Championship WAMSB Jakarta, indonesia 2025.
Moreover, he 1s an affiliate of the Asia Marching Band Confederation (AMBC) as Education Deputy Owector since 2022 and serves as one of the Board Members of the Malaysia Marching Band Association.
